Essential Job Functions:
Supervise and perform day-to-accounting activities including posting journal entries, preparation of account analysis and reconciliations, provide accurate and timely invoices, inventory summaries, cash requirements, budget variance reports and other requirements as required.
Administer the employment process for hiring qualified personnel to staff the plant.
Ensure timely and accurate submittal of employee timesheet information to Corporate HR for payroll processing.
Prepare and maintain accounts payable and accounts receivables in accordance with Corporate Accounting procedures and customer requirements.
Prepare and track real-time spending during scheduled and unscheduled outages.
Administer the procurement process, including the oversight of the issuance of purchase requisitions/purchase orders, vendor invoice matching to receipts and approval of vendor payments in accordance of the established terms and conditions specified by the Company’s purchasing policies.
Administer procedures for inventory management and physical inventory of plant assets.
Assist in plant budget preparation, cost tracking, analysis, and reporting.
Administer the Fitness for Duty policy in accordance with policy.
Maintain accurate records of employee training, safety and workers’ compensation claims.
Oversee the plant administrative staff and sustain plant morale.
Administer and maintain plant contracts.
Complete other tasks as requested by the Plant Manager.
Dependable, reliable, and predictable attendance is required.
Must possess a valid, in-state motor vehicle operator’s license at all times.
Knowledge, Skill, and Abilities:
The Plant Controller operates from established and well-known procedures, performing duties independently with only general direction given. Decisions are made within prescribed operation guidelines. The Plant Controller encounters new and varied work situations, involving a moderate degree of complexity. The Plant Controller must effectively communicate information to the Plant Manager and the Operations and Maintenance Managers, relative to the administrative processes, and provide suggestions for plant improvement. The Plant Controller must ensure duties are performed in such a way to result in an optimum cost-benefit ratio.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, CPA a plus (5-7 years’ experience). Office management and supervisory experience with demonstrated ability in administration and organizational skills. A strong emphasis in general accounting related to plant/facility operations. Knowledge and administration of Human Resources practices and procedures, as well as strong computer skills, especially spreadsheet programs, excellent oral and written communication skills are all required.

Lifting/Pulling/Pushing: Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and pull or push equipment or materials. Moderate over-head reaching and lifting and grasping is necessary.

Fingering/Grasping/Feeling: Must be able to write, type, and use phone system.

Working Conditions:
Position requires extended working hours and varied shifts with probable weekend and holiday work, as required by schedules, workload and plant conditions. Position will require on-call status. Protective clothing and equipment are required for plant site
All employees will participate in the Fitness for Duty Program. This program includes a pre-employment physical examination and drug screening, and random drug screening during employment. Extensive smoking restrictions exist in and around the facility.
