Job Summary: The Driver performs numerous functions that are directed in priority order. This position requires appropriate supervision and care of children and property as well as positive interactions with vendors and others with whom s/he will come in contact outside of the agency. This is a full time non-exempt position. S/He will adhere to Adelbrook Residential Policy and Procedures. The Driver reports to the Adelbrook Residential Program Coordinator

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Transports children to and from Medical and Therapeutic appointments outside of the agency.
Supervises children in waiting rooms, communicates with service providers, is physically present during medical appointments (as required by type of medical appointment) and is responsible for clients during this process.
Communicates observations to appropriate Medical staff, in-person or in writing, as directed.
Runs errands including, but not limited to, delivering packages and documents as directed by the Program Coordinator.
Familiarize him/herself with policies and procedures regarding the use of agency vehicles and follow all safety rules.
Reports any noted problems with vehicles to the maintenance department.
Displays appropriate role modeling/professionalism while performing all aspescts of the job and when in contact with the children being served.
Serves as a direct care staff between appointments or as directed by the Program Coordinator.
Obtain/maintain DCF Medication Certification.
Fulfills all other duties as assigned by his/her supervisor.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND OTHER QUALIFICATIONS:

An associates degree and experience working responsibly with children are required as is the ability to communicate clearly with others.
A CT driver's license and a good driving record are requisite.
The incumbent must have a positive attitude, good judgment and be able to follow instructions as outlined by the Adelbrook Residential Program Coordinator. S/he must be able to work with residents and other employees from diverse ethnic, educational, economic and religious backgrounds.
