Position Responsibilities

  • Contract Drafting and Review: Creating and reviewing various contracts, including sales, procurement, and non-sales agreements, ensuring they are legally sound and aligned with company objectives.  
  • Negotiation Guidance: Providing negotiation guidance and if necessary, participating in, contract negotiations with stakeholders, customers, and other parties, delivering favorable terms and conditions.  
  • Contract and Counsel Management: Overseeing the entire contract lifecycle, including execution, amendments, renewals, and terminations; engaging and managing legal counsel as required.  
  • Contract Controls: Assures that necessary procedural controls exist and are executed consistently; required approvals are received throughout the contract life-cycle.
  • Compliance: Ensuring all contracts comply with company policies, legal regulations, and industry standards.  
  • Risk Management: Identifying potential risks associated with contracts and implementing mitigation strategies.
  • Relationship Management: Building and maintaining strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders involved in contracts.
  • Record Keeping: Maintaining organized and accurate contract documentation, ensuring accessibility and compliance with record-keeping requirements.  
  • Document Management: Generates, maintains, and audits a central contract-resource file.
  • Dispute Resolution: Addressing and resolving contract-related issues and disputes, potentially involving legal counsel.  

 

Position Requirements

Minimum

  • Seven years of contract administration experience in the construction industry
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the construction industry’s policies, procedures and practices relative to contract performance
  • Legal and Contractual Knowledge: Understanding of contract law, legal terminology, and relevant regulations.  
  • Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze contract language, identify potential risks, and assess financial implications.  
  • Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills for interacting with various stakeholders.
  • Organizational Skills: Ability to manage multiple contracts and maintain organized records.  
  • Attention to Detail: Meticulous attention to detail to ensure accuracy and compliance.  
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to identify and resolve contract-related issues effectively.  
  • Negotiation Skills: Ability to effectively negotiate contract terms and conditions.  
  • Interpersonal Skills: Ability to build and maintain positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.  
  • Exposure to Construction/Contractor accounting
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Excel and Power BI
