Overview

RA Capital's Family Office and Partner Services team is seeking an Associate Wealth Advisor to provide comprehensive financial advisory and operational support to the firm’s Founders, Partners, and Executive Officers. This team plays a vital role in managing complex, high-touch client relationships and coordinating cross-functional initiatives both internally and with trusted external advisors.

The Associate will support new relationship onboarding, maintain and update financial records, generate planning proposals, and contribute to process enhancements. This is a dynamic role that demands attention to detail, critical thinking, and a proactive approach to problem-solving. The ideal candidate will be an organized, energetic self-starter with strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset.

Key Responsibilities

Client Onboarding & Relationship Support

  • Coordinate with custodians (e.g., Fidelity, Morgan Stanley, JP Morgan, Bank of America) to open accounts and oversee asset transfers.
  • Manage new relationship onboarding activities, ensuring a seamless and professional client experience.
  • Facilitate client-directed money movement and maintain accurate records of all asset transactions.

Information Management & Reporting

  • Maintain accurate client data and documentation within the firm’s systems (e.g., Eton Solutions).
  • Regularly update portfolio information from external investment advisors to ensure accurate performance reporting.
  • Support internal reporting functions and assist in data integrity initiatives.

Investment Administration

  • Assist in processing investment activity, including subscription-based and alternative investments.
  • Support reconciliation processes and liaise with operations teams to ensure timely execution.

Financial Planning & Proposal Development

  • Prepare customized planning proposals and analysis that include financial projections, insurance analysis, estate planning insights, and liquidity/cash flow scenarios.
  • Create presentation materials using Excel, PowerPoint, and reporting tools such as Eton Solutions.

Cross-functional Initiatives

  • Collaborate on projects to enhance the client experience and optimize internal workflows.
  • Respond to ad hoc requests from senior team members and external advisors with professionalism and efficiency.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degrees (MBA, MS) or certifications (CFP, CPA, CFA) strongly preferred or in progress.
  • 3 -5  years of relevant experience in financial services, preferably within wealth management, an RIA, or a family office environment.
  • Direct experience working with custodians and understanding of account structures and asset flows.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proven ability to multi-task, prioritize effectively, and execute with precision.
  • Highly detail-oriented with a strong sense of accountability and follow-through.
  • Technologically fluent, with proficiency in:
    • Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
    • Performance reporting platforms (e.g., Eton Solutions, Tamarac, Addepar)
    • Familiarity with data analytics tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, or similar) a plus.
  • Must be based in Greater Boston area (no relocation provided)
  • Must be willing to work a hybrid schedule out of our Boston office
  • Must be authorized to work in the US without sponsorship
