This Company oversees the core businesses of Rakuten Group, Inc. We offer a wide range of businesses and services related to e-commerce (Rakuten Ichiba, Rakuten Travel, GORA, Rakuma, entertainment content, etc.) and web advertising.

[Operations Division]
The Operations Division consolidates the HQ functions and business support (back-office) functions for the C&M Company. We are responsible for contract/purchase management with business partners, service quality management, customer communication, compliance and risk management, and overall management of legal affairs and public relations.

Given the current social situation and the expanding needs of the e-commerce market, we are seeking passionate individuals to help solve the challenges faced by businesses operating on Rakuten Ichiba.
Rakuten Group's mission is to "empower people and society through innovation." Our Management Support Group is committed to embodying this principle by addressing various management-related challenges faced by companies on Rakuten Ichiba.
Specifically, we focus on supporting "business succession" for companies struggling with a lack of successors. We uncover potential needs through careful interviews with business owners and provide a full range of support that companies require, such as management improvement, in collaboration with external management consultants and related organizations. At times, this involves visiting stores across the country and working closely with business owners to solve problems, which can be a hands-on and demanding process.
We are strengthening our collaboration with external experts such as certified small and medium enterprise consultants, financial institutions, and M&A advisory firms to build a more comprehensive support system.
Internally, we also contribute to improving the management support skills of our EC Consultants (ECC) by planning and operating training sessions and business succession seminars for them.
In this position, you will support the management improvement of businesses on Rakuten Ichiba as a solution provider for not only EC business but also corporate management in general. This is a new initiative that you will help create from the planning stage.

Position Details

- Providing management support to merchants (e.g., supporting profitability improvement and formulating management improvement plans).
- Planning and operating seminars for merchants on Rakuten Ichiba.
- Building alliances and strengthening relationships with related support organizations associations, financial institutions, M&A advisory firms, SME Support, Japan, etc.).
- Collaborating with and sharing information with internal EC Consultants (ECC), and conducting training sessions.
- Activities to raise awareness of management support services.
- Other duties that contribute to enhancing the corporate value of merchants.
- Promoting the use of big data and AI for management support.
- Realizing merchant support utilizing the entire Rakuten Ecosystem.

Work Environment

We are a team of 7, with most members having prior experience, creating a diverse team.
Previous industries of existing employees: Securities companies, banks, MBAs, etc.
Management positions: 3 (Senior Manager, Vice Senior Manager, Manager)

Mandatory Qualifications:

*Must have experience in one of the following:
- SME financing and management consulting experience at a bank, credit union, or other financial institution (3+ years).
- SME-focused consulting experience at a consulting firm (3+ years).
- Management improvement support experience at an SME support organization (Chamber of Commerce, etc.) (3+ years).

Desired Qualifications:

- Certified Small and Medium Enterprise Consultant certification (preferred).
- Basic knowledge and understanding of e-commerce business.
- Experience in data analysis.
