SUMMARY: The Ward RDC Operator is responsible for performing various tasks to set up, operate, monitor, troubleshoot and perform preventive maintenance on assigned die cut machine. A successful operator follows the pre-production, make ready, and production run tasks and is responsible for accuracy and completeness of order, dies, set-up and installation, stock, load and feed of material and accuracy of cutting. The operator is responsible for knowing how to perform all the specific job duties associated with their machine. Being a team player is essential since all tasks will require close collaboration with co-workers. The goal will be to ensure that production procedures are carried out smoothly to maximize efficiency and profits. Experience working with corrugated packaging equipment is a plus.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Set up and run machine to maximize production
- Safely operate machine that produces corrugated packaging
- Stop or reset machine when malfunctions occur, clear machine jams, and report malfunctions to a supervisor
- Regulate machine flow, speed, or temperature, dimension, pressure, register settings
- Inspect and remove defective products and packaging material
- Adjust machine components and machine tension and pressure according to size or processing angle of product
- Maintain the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition and follow prescribed safety regulations
- Set up machine based on Ward RDC operational proficiencies
- Properly and successfully interact with team members
- Following Lock-out/Tag-out procedures is required
- Record all necessary information on the SupplyOne QAR (Quality Assurance Report)
- Uses proper PPE
- Meet customers’ requirements for printing, slotting, and scoring.
- Learns and follows the First Box Inspection Process
- Ability and knowledge to understand and use printing plates, ink system, and die boards
- Understands all safety procedures and precautions to ensure protections of personnel doing repairs and machine cleaning – including replacing and rotating blankets
- Ensuring production floor, machine area, is clean, accessible and safe
Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:

- Proficient with fractions, decimals, ruler reading and can apply concepts of high school math
- Ability to effectively and professionally communicate with coworkers
- Maintains the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition and follow prescribed safety regulations
- Ability to complete paperwork necessary for every run
- Understands SupplyOne Manufacturing Standards
- Ability to work in a timely and productive manner, using problem solving techniques to meet customer needs
- Criminal background check and post offer drug screen must be successfully completed
