Job Summary
Actively contribute to building the IFRS17 team by:
- Lead and manage the execution, validation and analysis of the FWD IFRS17 Business Planning and quarterly production
- Lead and manage resources in supporting various Actuarial initiatives/projects
- Develop and mentor the team
The Job
As the Team Lead:
- Lead, coach and manage the team’s performance, development and morale to ensure team members achieve their goals according to the expected performance standards
- Manage the resources and ensure adequate resource allocation in work arrangement
- Support the hiring of good talent
As the IFRS17 Lead:
- Oversee the execution, validation and analysis of the IFRS17 Business Plan results, and ensure quality and on-time delivery of work
- Review result reasonableness of and internal consistency across various reporting bases
- Provide quality assurance on the production results and assist with communication of results as necessary
- Manage the expectations of key stakeholders by developing a communication process to deliver defined production requirement within the agreed timeline and keep up-to-date production progress
- Negotiate timelines, scope and priorities of incoming requests
- Resolve and where necessary, escalate and communicate unprecedented and complex issues to the manager in a timely manner
- Set project priorities for the team and oversee all projects deliverables including planning and managing the resources in delivering the Actuarial initiatives/projects
The Person
- At least 10 years of insurance experience in actuarial functions
- Fellowship or nearly fellowship member of an internationally recognized actuarial professional body
- Strong understanding of Actuarial valuation processes and proven experience in IFRS17 is a must
- Hands on knowledge of Prophet modeling, including Prophet ALS is a must
- Strong Excel and analytical skills
- Strong team leadership and management skills
- Strong facilitation, negotiation and problem resolution skills
- Strong strategic thinking ability to prioritize and balance multiple tasks or projects
- Good communication and presentation skills
- Fluent in English speaking and written skills
