COMPA Industries is searching for qualified candidates for a Principal Business Analyst – Project Controls position supporting SRNS in Aiken, SC.
Pay: $80–$90/hr

Mandatory Experience Requirement – Read Before Applying
Candidates must have senior-level project controls experience supporting complex projects or programs, with strong experience in planning, scheduling, financial analysis, cost control, forecasting, variance analysis, spend plans, baselines, and project reporting.
Candidates must have experience with Primavera and COBRA. Experience with automated accounting, cost management, scheduling, estimating systems, and site business systems is highly important for this role.
About the Role
The Principal Business Analyst – Project Controls will be responsible for supporting the organization, development, implementation, maintenance, and accountability of project controls, financial analysis, and estimating applications. This position provides management with the ability to maintain planning, scheduling, financial analysis, and cost control throughout the life cycle of a complex project or program.
The selected candidate will perform project controls activities under very limited supervision, prepare business and financial plans, develop reports, analyze cost and schedule performance, support change management, and provide technical direction to other project controls personnel.
Key Responsibilities

Develop and maintain cost and schedule baselines, milestone schedules, work breakdown structures, forecasts, and spend plans.

Perform project controls activities, including planning, scheduling, cost analysis, financial analysis, estimating support, and project reporting.

Analyze cost and schedule performance variances against project plans.
-
Communicate variance drivers, impacts, and mitigation plans to management.
-
Participate in routine project cost reviews and schedule meetings.
-
Develop and implement basic change management systems for engineering and construction work scope.

Apply advanced project controls concepts to support complex, multi-project analysis and problem resolution.

Prepare monthly financial reports, including analysis, forecasts, and spend plans.

Perform variance analysis, statistical analysis, scenario analysis, and other financial analysis techniques.

Identify funding limitations, productivity issues, and financial risks.
-
Support cost controls and develop cost-effective processes to improve project performance.

Develop costing rates, explain costing rates for the budget process, maintain rates, and analyze pool variances.

Define requirements and develop models for complex business systems.

Develop test plans and scenarios for financial or project controls system enhancements.

Support implementation of system enhancements and monitor effectiveness.

Initiate and direct special studies to solve complex business and project controls issues.

Translate senior management concepts into practical operating plans.

Assemble, analyze, interpret, and apply project information to develop innovative solutions.

Provide leadership, technical direction, and training to other project controls personnel.

Maintain strong understanding of CAS/FAR principles.

Support project controls activities requiring Primavera and COBRA.
Required Qualifications
Candidates must meet one of the following education and experience combinations:

Master’s degree in business, construction management, technical, engineering, or related field and 5 years of practical experience; or

Bachelor’s degree in business, construction management, technical, engineering, or related field and 7 years of practical experience; or
-
Associate degree and 11 years of practical experience; or
-
High school diploma and 15 years of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications

Prior DOE, NNSA, SRS, federal, nuclear, or large capital project experience.

Prior experience supporting SRNS or Savannah River Site project controls.

Experience with EVMS, cost performance reporting, and integrated project controls.
-
Experience with complex engineering, construction, operations, maintenance, startup, or weapons programs.
-
Experience with classified or federal project controls environments.
-
Candidates who have possessed an active DOE “L” or “Q” clearance within the past two years are preferred.
Work Schedule
A 40-hour work week is scheduled. SRNS utilizes various schedules, including 5/8s, 4/10s, and 9/80s. Work weeks exclude SRNS holidays. Each workday includes a 30-minute lunch. Overtime may be expected at times to meet deliverables and will be used at the discretion of the manager.
Travel
Business travel may be required to attend Project Controls Summits in Albuquerque, NM or Kansas City, MO for Weapons Programs discussions that must be conducted in person due to classified matters. Travel must be approved in advance through the proper procurement and task order authorization process.
Security Requirements
Candidate must be able to obtain and maintain a DOE “Q” security clearance. Subcontractor must have an active eFOCI registration and approved Facility Level Clearance with DOE / NNSA.
Ideal Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate is a senior project controls professional with strong experience supporting complex projects through cost control, schedule control, financial analysis, forecasting, variance analysis, baseline management, change control, and reporting.
The strongest candidates will have hands-on experience with Primavera and COBRA, plus experience supporting DOE, NNSA, SRS, federal, nuclear, weapons programs, or large capital project environments.
