Technical Advisor – Enterprise Architect

ASSYST is seeking an experienced Technical Advisor – Enterprise Architecture & Modernization to support our client in Tallahassee, Florida. This role serves as a key technical leader and advisor, acting as the primary liaison between project teams, business stakeholders and service vendors. The successful candidate will provide architectural guidance, oversee compliance with enterprise architecture standards, support modernization initiatives and contribute to the successful delivery of complex technology transformation projects.

The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in enterprise architecture, systems modernization, solution validation and technical leadership within large-scale, multi-vendor environments.

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Develop a comprehensive understanding of the project scope and objectives upon onboarding.
• Create and maintain technical architecture documentation for integrated enterprise solutions, including applications, interfaces and information flows.
• Document current architectural standards across mainframe, web and mobile platforms.
• Define future-state architectural standards and technology frameworks aligned with infrastructure and security compliance requirements.
• Ensure adherence to enterprise architecture models, capabilities, standards and technology strategies.
• Evaluate and validate proposed technical solutions to ensure alignment with client requirements and architectural standards.
• Serve as the primary technical liaison between business stakeholders and contracted service providers.
• Provide hands-on leadership in the design and implementation of re-engineered business processes.
• Prepare and deliver periodic compliance and architecture status reports to internal and external stakeholders.
• Maintain architectural artifacts and documentation repositories with appropriate version control and history.
• Participate in business requirements gathering and analysis sessions.
• Lead business process improvement initiatives and provide recommendations for enterprise architecture enhancements.
• Collaborate effectively within cross-functional teams while independently managing assigned responsibilities.

Required Skills & Qualifications:
Education:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field; or Equivalent professional experience may be substituted on a year-for-year basis where applicable.

Required Experience:

• Minimum of 7 years of IT experience within one or more technical specialty areas.
• Experience supporting large-scale, multi-vendor, outsourced, or enterprise technology environments.
• Strong understanding of:
  
  • Enterprise architecture principles and standards
  • Information systems architecture
  • Networking concepts and infrastructure
  • Data, application and infrastructure architecture domains
• Experience supporting enterprise modernization and transformation initiatives.
• Experience working with enterprise data environments, including:
  
  • IBM DB2
  • Microsoft SQL Server
• Experience participating in software modernization and technology transformation projects.
• Experience working in complex, multi-vendor technical delivery environments.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience modernizing and migrating legacy mainframe applications.
• Experience designing cloud migration strategies and target-state architectures, preferably using:
  
  • Microsoft Azure
  • Amazon Web Services (AWS)
• Experience with application containerization technologies.
• Experience designing and building application integrations using APIs (Application Programming Interfaces).
• Strong stakeholder management, communication and technical leadership skills.
