Position Summary: 

The Senior SAP Developer is responsible for designing, building, and optimizing custom developments on SAP ECC, S/4HANA and BTP to support our end to end business processes. The role partners closely with functional streams (PTP, D2S/OTC, FICO, PLM) and Technology (Basis/Integration) to deliver robust, secure, and performant solutions aligned with architectural and coding standards.

Location: Oerlikon India HRSFlow Viman Nagar, Pune.

Education and Work Experience:

Education:

• Bachelor in Applied Computer Science, Information Technology or similar
• Excellent language skills in English are required
• 8+ years SAP ABAP with at least 3+ years on S/4HANA.

 

 

Work Experience:

• Professional experience in international projects
• Ideally, experience in planning/execution of migration and rollout projects
• Experience with coordinating external partner

 

 

Tasks and Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, test, and deploy high quality ABAP solutions within SAP ECC and S/4HANA and end-to-end cloud applications using SAP Business Application Studio (BAS)..
• Build and optimize CDS Views, AMDPs, BOPF/RAP objects, and OData services for Fiori/UI5 applications.
• Enhance and extend standard SAP functionality using User Exits, BADIs, Enhancement Framework, and Custom Objects.
• Develop SmartForms, Adobe Forms, ALV reports, Interfaces (IDoc, RFC, REST/JSON).
• Conduct performance analysis and tuning of ABAP programs
• Application Development: Design and develop end-to-end cloud applications using SAP Business Application Studio (BAS).
• Backend Engineering: Build robust OData services and business logic using the SAP Cloud Application Programming (CAP) Model (Node.js, Java or Python).
• Data Modeling: Create and manage data models using Core Data Services (CDS) and deploy them to SAP HANA Cloud.
• Frontend Development: Develop responsive user interfaces using SAPUI5, Fiori Elements, and Fiori Freestyle techniques.
• Integration: Implement integrations between BTP applications and backend systems (S/4HANA, ECC) using SAP Destination Service and SAP Cloud Connector.
• DevOps & Deployment: Manage application lifecycles using MTA (Multi-Target Applications) archives, Cloud Foundry, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Partner with functional consultants (PTP, D2S/OTC, FICO, PLM) and Technology (Basis, Integration).

 

 

Knowledge & Skills Summary:

• 8+ years SAP ABAP with at least 3+ years on S/4HANA.
• Strong expertise in CDS, AMDP/SQLScript, OData (Gateway), OO ABAP; RAP preferred.
• Proven RICEFW delivery; integration experience (IDoc, RFC/BAPI, REST/JSON).
• Forms development (Adobe/SmartForms) and advanced debugging/performance tuning.
• IDE: Advanced proficiency in SAP Business Application Studio (BAS) or VS Code (with SAP extensions).
• Frameworks: Strong hands-on experience with SAP CAP (Cloud Application Programming) model.
• Languages: Proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript (preferred), Java or python
• Frontend: Experience with SAPUI5, Fiori Elements, and annotation-based UI development.
• Database: Knowledge of SAP HANA Cloud, SQL, and CDS (Core Data Services) views.
• Platform: Working knowledge of SAP BTP (Cloud Foundry environment).
• Version Control: Proficiency with Git (GitHub/GitLab/Bitbucket).
• Practical knowledge across key modules (e.g., SD/OTC, MM/PTP, PP, FI; PLM exposure is a plus).
• Experience with data migration tools/methods (BDC/LSMW/SLT/custom) is an advantage.
• Familiarity with SolMan/ChaRM, Git, CI/CD for ABAP, and secure coding practices. Strong communication skills.
