The Role

We are currently seeking dynamic, efficient, and flexible Catering Assistant to join the Hotel Services team in delivering outstanding service to clients, staff and visitors.

Reporting to the Executive Chef, you will be required to work within job specifications - meeting quality standards, communicate clearly, and be versatile in all facets of food preparation and service for our stakeholders in Macquarie University Hospital.

Key Accountabilities of a Catering Assistant include (but not limited to):

  • Prepares meals for patients, visitors, and staff with a focus on presentation and hospitality

  • Reliable and detail oriented, ensuring patient dietary needs are met and promptly communicated to the team when necessary.

  • Maintain strong customer relations, addressing service concerns promptly and effectively

  • Highly motivated, Committed, and punctual team player.

  • Communicates patient needs, including special dietary requirements, to the Executive Chef- General services.

  • Adheres to hospital policies, procedures and standards in all work practices.

  • Working knowledge of the HACCP program and service delivery.

  • Sound knowledge and compliance to food hygiene and cleanliness standards

To Apply

To be considered for this position, you will demonstrate the below requirements in your resume:

  •  Experience as a catering assistant or similar food preparation role. Experience in a hospital is desirable.

  • Strong Understanding of food hygiene and Cleanliness Standards

  • Commitment to delivering exceptional customer service and attention to detail.

  • Reliable and punctual in duties and contributing to the team.

  • Strong interpersonal and Communication skills

  • Availability for Flexible shifts, with a preference for Saturdays and Sundays.
