We are seeking a Software Engineer to develop applications for the Deposits Technology at Ally bank. The day-to-day responsibilities include development of new solutions, enhancement of existing functionalities, unit testing, system configuration, and production support activities. The ideal candidate will be a team player with an innovative mindset and desire to own and independently deliver assignments under minimal supervision.

The Work Itself

  • Participates in all phases of software development lifecycle including design, coding, testing, deployment, and production support.
  • Write and review codebase for various software applications in Deposits Technology using multiple programming languages.
  • Develop comprehensive unit tests, integration tests, and perform developer testing to ensure quality of the deliverables.
  • Interact and partner with broader organization teams to understand functional and technical requirements, develop technical solutions, support and ensure integration testing, and support production infrastructure.

The Skills You Bring


Minimum Qualifications:
  • 1+ years of relevant experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree in relevant field(s) of study or equivalent
Preferred Qualifications:
  • 1+ years of software development experience using one or more programming languages such as Node.js (JavaScript/TypeScript), Java, Python.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or other engineering discipline.
  • Experience with API (preferably REST) development and related industry best practices.
  • Experience using version control systems such as Git.
  • Experience or exposure to DevOps tools such as GitLab, GitHub, Terraform, Shell Scripting.
  • Experience or exposure to Cloud computing, especially AWS is a big plus.
  • Ability to work and collaborate in a team environment.
  • Experience developing RESTful APIs.
  • Experience with AWS Cloud computing or AWS certification.
