This position is primarily responsible, in conjunction with HR Director, for assisting and collaborating with Managers and Administration on recruitment, employee relations questions and issues, HR policy administration, employee recognition, and other employment matters. He/She will serve as the primary contact for employees with questions/concerns related to employment issues. The HR Generalist will also assist in responding to and being knowledgeable of other functions of the Human Resources office.
Minimum knowledge, skills, and abilities:
- Bachelor’s Degree in related field of study.
- A minimum of 3 - 5 years of prior experience in human resources preferred.
- PHR certification or general HR certification a plus.
- Must possess a valid Iowa driver’s license and meet satisfactory motor vehicle record requirements.
- Must maintain and provide proof of his/her own auto insurance policy.
- Healthcare experience is desired.
- Knowledge of federal and state employment laws required.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to read and communicate effectively in English.
- Must demonstrate the ability to communicate effectively with employees at all levels of the organization.
- High level of reasoning, problem solving, decision making skills.
- Computer skills to include Word, Excel, and HRIS (Meditech).
- Ability to function as member of a team.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Must be able to complete tasks independently and utilize good judgment when making decisions.
