2026-03-08 11:59 PMRadio-Canada News & Current Affairs is looking for a journalist who will report for radio in Montreal.
In this role, you will produce stories for newscasts, information programs and digital platforms. You will perform newsgathering in the field and present your reporting in line with CBC/Radio-Canada’s Journalistic Standards and Practices. You must be a creative thinker who brings original ideas and is able to file to tight deadlines.
Please note this is a permanent part-time role, initially assigned a Friday to Sunday shift. Working hours are subject to change based on operational requirements.
What You Bring:
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
Three (3) years’ journalism experience or equivalent
Skills:
Experience preparing news reports for radio
Experience delivering live debriefs on radio
Proven ability working in the field and knowledge of newsroom production and network operations
Extensive general knowledge; in-depth knowledge of social, political and municipal affairs in Quebec, nationally and internationally
Interest in developing original formats for digital
Solid command of French (working language)
Intermediate oral, writing and reading proficiency in English (BBB)
Good Dalet skills
Ability to work well under pressure and take initiative
Keen editorial judgment; familiarity with CBC/Radio-Canada Journalistic Standards and Practices
Additional requirements:
Availability and willingness to work occasionally irregular hours and to travel for field assignments
Valid driver’s licence as well as a driving record that meets the minimum requirements of CBC/Radio-Canada’s insurance company
