Role: Family Practitioner (Family Club Practitioner)

Salary: Up to £28,000 per annum (pro-rata and according to experience and qualifications)

Location: Newcastle – City wide

Contract/Hours: Fixed Term Contract until 31st March 2027 – Part Time 22.5 hours a week – to meet the family’s needs.

About Family Clubs

Family Clubs are warm, friendly places in local communities. Families can:

Family Clubs give families a safe place to go and let them know they are not alone.

About the team

We work with babies, children, young people and parents/carers in Newcastle. We are part of Newcastle’s Early Help services.

We help families with many kinds of support to make life better for their children.

We have new funding to open more Family Clubs, so this role will help us reach even more families.

What you will do

  • Plan and run Family Clubs across the city. 
  • Speak with families and other services who need help. 
  • Support families to join Family Clubs and other activities. 
  • Encourage parents and help them build confidence and parenting skills. 
  • Speak up for babies, children and young people when needed. 
  • Work with other services like schools and health teams. 
  • Keep clear records and help collect information to show progress. 
  • Go to meetings with other agencies to make sure families get the right help. 
  • Follow safeguarding rules to keep children safe.
