Purpose;
We are seeking a Financial Crime Officer to join our Retail Credit Risk & Financial Crime team, reporting to the Executive Manager, Retail Credit Risk & Financial Crime. This role is responsible for the day-to-day operational management of financial crime risk across the customer application lifecycle, driving strong fraud prevention to protect our portfolio.
This is a hands-on, operational role focused on managing financial crime queues, reviewing applications, and working closely with internal stakeholders to prevent application fraud.
Key Responsibilities;
Review and assess finance applications referred for potential financial crime risk
Manage Financial Crime queues in line with agreed service levels and business volumes
Identify indicators of application fraud, misrepresentation, identity misuse, and document irregularities
Liaise with Credit, Operations, Settlements, and Customer Service teams to support timely and effective outcomes
Apply Financial Crime policies, procedures, and decisioning frameworks consistently
Maintain accurate documentation and records of assessment,
Qualifications & Experience;
Experience in financial crime, or a related application-orientated operational role
Understanding of the consumer, commercial and novated finance application lifecycle and customer journey
Strong attention to detail and ability to manage high-volume queues
Clear written and verbal communication skills
Sound judgement with a balanced risk and customer mindset
Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
