Play a leading role in delivering complex mining infrastructure programs that matter. We are seeking a Senior Project Manager to steer multidisciplinary EPCM delivery—aligning scope, cost, schedule, quality and safety—while shaping sustainable outcomes for mining operations across Mexico.

Purpose of the role

You will lead and coordinate concept, basic and detailed engineering through EPCM execution for mining infrastructure projects. You will direct engineering, procurement, construction management, project controls, contracts, cost, quality and HSE—ensuring technical integrity, constructability, regulatory compliance and strong stakeholder engagement throughout the project lifecycle.

Core responsibilities

  • Define and execute the Project Execution Plan and establish scope, schedule and cost baselines (WBS/CBS), including risk, change and communications plans.
  • Lead multidisciplinary teams (civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, geotechnical, process), project controls, QA/QC, HSE and field supervision; coach and develop project leaders.
  • Oversee engineering deliverables (concept to IFC), constructability, model reviews, inter‑discipline squad checks and technical risk reviews.
  • Direct procurement and contracts: bid strategies, tendering, technical and commercial evaluations, awards, change orders, claims and vendor expediting for long‑lead equipment.
  • Manage cost and schedule performance using Primavera P6 or MS Project and Earned Value methods; report progress, forecasts and variances to stakeholders and steering committees.
  • Coordinate construction management under the EPCM model: package breakdown, site readiness, contractor performance, quality, safety, and resolution of field deviations.
  • Ensure regulatory compliance in Mexico (NOMs; SEMARNAT, PROFEPA, STPS; state/municipal requirements) and alignment with applicable international codes and standards.
  • Drive risk management (technical, contractual, supply chain, construction): identification, mitigation, opportunities and decision‑making with data‑driven insights.
  • Engage customers and third parties: lead reviews, present executive reports (cost, schedule, risk, HSE), and maintain strong relationships across the project ecosystem.
  • Oversee handover and readiness: commissioning coordination, punch list and turnover to operations, lessons learned and close‑out.

Skills and experience

  • MUST: Proven end‑to‑end leadership of mining infrastructure projects (brownfield/greenfield) under EPCM or EPC models, including contractors and suppliers management.

·        MUST: Verifiable experience managing mining projects (EPCM or EPC) within the minerals and resources sector.

  • 15+ years managing large industrial or mining projects with multidisciplinary engineering and construction supervision.
  • Strong contract administration across lump sum, unit‑rate and reimbursable agreements; change control and claims management.
  • Advanced planning and project controls (Primavera P6, MS Project; cost control and forecasting, EVM).
  • Working knowledge of international codes and standards (e.g., ASME, API, ACI, AWS, ISO) plus applicable Mexican standards and regulations.
  • Demonstrated leadership in quality and HSE, including audits and field performance monitoring.
  • Excellent stakeholder management, negotiation and conflict resolution; clear executive communication in Spanish and English (B2+).
  • Education: Bachelor’s in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, Mining, Structural or related; Master’s in Engineering, Project Management or Construction Management preferred.
  • Nice to have (role‑relevant): familiarity with typical mining infrastructure scopes (crushing and conveying, power distribution, water balance, dewatering, tailings and non‑process infrastructure, roads, camps).
