Position Overview
The Digital Advertising Lead plays a key role in executing and optimizing Basecamp Resorts’ digital marketing programs across paid media, SEO, and owned channels. This role owns day-to-day performance across paid media and organic acquisition channels, with accountability for efficiency, growth, and measurable revenue impact. The role works closely with the Marketing Director and internal creative, web, and revenue teams to ensure campaigns are well executed, accurately tracked, and continuously improved.

Salary: $65,000 - $80,000 depending on experience plus a quarterly profit share.
Shifts: Full-time, Permanent
Location: Canmore AB or Calgary AB is preferred (remote working within Canada will be considered)
Key Responsibilities:
Digital Advertising & Strategy
• Develop, execute, and optimize paid digital media campaigns across Google, Meta, and other programmatic ad platforms.
• Set up, monitor, and manage paid search, paid social, and OTA (Expedia, Booking.com) advertising.
• Create comprehensive advertising briefs, ensuring alignment with brand strategy and business objectives.
• Conduct A/B testing to refine ad performance and maximize return on investment.
• Collaborate with marketing and design teams to develop compelling ad creative and messaging.
• Identify and implement new growth opportunities through paid digital channels.
• Develop and implement strategies to increase direct bookings and reduce OTA dependency.
• Track and manage digital media budgets, ensuring efficient allocation of resources.
AI & Marketing Automation
• Use AI tools to support campaign planning, creative development, performance analysis, and reporting
• Apply AI to accelerate copywriting, ad variations, keyword research, SEO insights, and content optimization while maintaining brand standards
• Identify opportunities to automate reporting, monitoring, and repetitive marketing tasks to improve efficiency
• Research, test, and recommend new AI tools and integrations that enhance paid media, SEO, CRM, and analytics performance
• Support team adoption of AI through shared workflows, documentation, and best practices
• Stay current on emerging AI trends, platform updates, and responsible-use practices relevant to digital marketing
SEO & Performance Optimization
• Own ongoing SEO performance, including regular audits, prioritization of fixes, and collaboration with web and content teams to drive sustained organic growth.
• Implement best practices for on-page and off-page SEO, including keyword research, metadata, and backlinking strategies.
• Monitor organic search traffic and adjust SEO tactics based on performance data.
• Optimize MetaSearch campaigns to enhance visibility on travel and booking platforms.
• Collaborate with the web development team to improve site speed, performance, and search engine rankings.
Data Analysis & Reporting
• Track and analyze website traffic and digital campaign performance using Google Analytics, Google Search Console, and other tracking tools.
• Provide detailed reports on digital ad spend, campaign performance, and conversion rates.
• Identify trends and insights to refine digital marketing strategies and improve ROI.
• Deliver frequent reports on campaign effectiveness and performance benchmarks.
• Provide ongoing recommendations for optimizing digital media strategies based on data analysis.
Collaboration & Growth Initiatives
• Work closely with the marketing team to align digital campaigns with broader brand objectives and messaging.
• Identify and explore new advertising platforms and emerging trends in digital marketing.
• Develop internal processes for campaign tracking, automation, and performance optimization.
• Provide training and upskilling for team members on digital advertising best practices.
• Stay informed on the latest industry trends, platform updates, and advancements in digital media management.

Position Requirements
• 2-5 years of experience in a marketing or performance-focused digital role
• Experience managing paid digital campaigns with a $500,000+ budget (Google, Meta, or similar platforms)
• Strong analytical skills with working knowledge of Google Analytics or comparable tools
• Clear, concise writing skills adaptable across digital ads, email, and web content
• Working knowledge of SEO fundamentals and performance optimization
• Experience with email, SMS, or CRM-based marketing tools
• Proficient in using AI tools to improve efficiency, creative output, and performance analysis, with a proactive interest in identifying and testing new AI integrations
• Highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing multiple priorities
• Technically confident and eager to learn new platforms and tools
• Hospitality, travel, or tourism experience is an asset
