Junior Web Developer

 

Our Client is looking for a Junior Web Developer to join our technology team and support the development and maintenance of modern web applications. This role is ideal for someone early in their career who has strong web fundamentals and is keen to learn within a large, regulated, enterprise environment.

You’ll work alongside experienced engineers, gaining hands-on exposure to real-world systems while building a solid foundation in front-end development and modern frameworks.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in building and maintaining web applications using modern front-end technologies
• Write clean, semantic HTML and well-structured CSS
• Support development tasks using JavaScript and TypeScript
• Contribute to React-based user interfaces under guidance from senior developers
• Participate in code reviews and team ceremonies (stand-ups, sprint planning, retros)
• Learn and follow engineering standards, security practices, and development processes
• Collaborate with designers, testers, and backend engineers to deliver high-quality features

Required Skills & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related major
• Grade 4.5 or higher. We look for potential, not prestige, but it’s important that you enjoy pushing yourself to pick up new ideas.
• Solid understanding of web fundamentals, including HTML and CSS
• Basic knowledge of JavaScript
• Some exposure to TypeScript and React (through coursework, projects, or self-study)
• Familiarity with version control systems such as Git
• Willingness to learn, take feedback, and grow in a team-based environment

Desirable (Nice to Have)

• A GitHub (or similar) profile showcasing personal, academic, or bootcamp projects
• Basic understanding of responsive design and accessibility principles
• Exposure to testing, build tools, or CI/CD pipelines
