An exciting opportunity has arisen for you to join us as an Inspector in the Inspection team at the Ansty Fan Case Facility.

You will be working as part of a high performing team and will be responsible for inspecting across several functions in a technically demanding aerospace market. You will be familiar with working to manufacturing/engineering drawings, instructions, specifications & standards.

In this role you will focus on the inspection of large fan cases and OGVs. As the facility is targeting minimum standards in lean techniques, the role will include integration and delivery of Rolls-Royce Production System (RRPS) tasks which include lean Manufacturing, Asset Care, Visual Management, OEE and Waste Reduction.

What you will be doing:

You will inspect Fan Case components through the manufacturing process and sentencing. Working in an established team you will support all areas of the shop floor to maintain quality and flow.

  • Visual inspection and various stages of manufacturing and final inspection for release of components.                                                    
  • CMM inspection and sentencing using PC DMIS and Modus software.      
  • Borescope inspection.                                                    
  • CAA Form 1 release of components.                                                        
  • Drawing and specification interpretation.                                                             
  • Fluorescent Penetrant Inspection.                                                            
  • Coaching and guidance to other teams in the facility for quality standards and improvement.
  • Completing inspection documentation and non-conformance reports.                                    
  • Ability to prioritise workload in line with the customers’ requirements.

  • Time served apprenticeship or relevant qualification i.e. NVQ level 3 in an engineering or manufacturing discipline.                                           
  • Computer literate including understanding of MES booking system.                                          
  • An understanding of CMM function and software. Ideally using either Modus or PC DMI 
  • Basic IT literacy including understanding of MES booking system.                                               
  • Understanding HS&E Standards and regulations.                                               
  • Previous experience in the inspection of aerospace components.                                               
  • Knowledge of asset care.                                              
  • Interpretation of Technical Instructions and drawings.
  • The role will require an individual who is willing to work a rotating shift pattern of Mornings, afternoon and night shifts.
