The ams OSRAM Opto Semiconductors business offers high-performance opto semiconductor components and in-depth support for state-of-the-art system solutions based on innovative semiconductor light sources. The Business Unit can look back on almost fifty years of production and development expertise.
Your new responsibilities
As systems engineer you will be part of the systems engineering team. As a system designer your responsibility will be architectural design and evaluation. You will be a key player in our integrated products development developing products such as intelligent pixelated headlamps, display units using u-LEDS, as well as datacom systems using u-Emitters.
- Evaluate technical concepts, contribute to feasibility studies, innovation proposals, and design reviews
- Model complex systems using MATLAB, Python, and/or C++ to simulate and optimize performance
- Collaborate with domain experts to architect robust, scalable designs
- Define specifications for systems and subcomponents, ensuring coherence across development stages
- A role as technical project leader can occur
What we look for
- Successfully completed studies (Master) Electrical Engineering or equivalent
- Proven track record in systems engineering roles, preferably in semiconductor industry
- Strong written and verbal communications skills in English
- Ability to absorb and comprehend complex technical knowledge and problems
- Experience with one or more languages/tools (e.g. Matlab, Python, C++, Verilog and Cadence)
- Experience within one or more fields:
- Communications systems, preferably optical fibre communication systems
- Emitter technology and detector technology, LEDs, VCSELs and Photo detectors
- Display units and signal processing for AR/VR systems
- ASIC design, analogue and/or digital design
- Communication and stakeholder management for high profile projects
- Engagement with Tier 1 costumers
