Physical Security Systems Engineer

Summary

This position is responsible for the ongoing maintenance, design, and enhancement of physical security infrastructure across Guidewire’s facilities. The role is based in Bengaluru and requires a collaborative, detail-oriented engineer who will deliver robust, scalable, and compliant physical security solutions.

Job Description

What You Would Do:

• Support, maintain, and troubleshoot physical security systems (e.g., access control, video surveillance, alarm monitoring, and visitor management platforms)
• Identify and implement upgrades, enhancement, and expansion of security infrastructure as per organizational policy and compliance requirements
• Partner with Facilities, IT, Security, and external vendors for system design, installation, and commissioning of new physical security systems
• Perform system health audits and risk assessments, reporting findings and remediation steps to management
• Develop and maintain technical documentation, workflows, procedures, and training materials for physical security systems
• Respond to incidents and coordinate system recovery in case of critical failure or breach
• Manage user permissions, credentials, and configuration of security software platforms
• Stay updated with best practices and innovations in physical security technology

What you would need to succeed:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Information Technology, Electronics, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
• 3-5 years’ experience in a physical security systems engineer or related technical role, preferably in a global corporate environment
• Hands on experience with security hardware
• Hands-on experience with enterprise access control (e.g., Lenel, Genetec, Amag), CCTV systems (Genetec, Avigilon), visitor management, and alarm monitoring platforms
• Working knowledge of server/networking infrastructure as it relates to security systems deployment and support
• Ability to interpret building and wiring schematics, and interface with construction and installation contractors
• Ability & willingness to travel to Guidewire International Locations
• Proven experience designing and supporting security hardware/software integrations
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and documentation skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English

Preferred Skills:

• Background in security system installation
• Certifications related to physical security or security technology (e.g. PSP, Security manufacturer-specific certifications, Genetec or equivalent)
• Familiarity with regulatory standards (GDPR, local data privacy, and physical security compliance)
• Experience supporting multiple regional sites or complex facilities
• Project management experience is a plus
