Overview & Responsibilities
Purpose Of The Job:
The Senior Financial Analyst is critical to consolidate and produce forecasts, plans and analysis to the various corporate department managers and VPs, supporting them to understand the total cost, drivers and ramifications by account, entity and regions.
Equally important is to consolidate the departmental analysis, and produce concise and comprehensive analysis to senior management.
In additional to the departmental expenses, this position is expected to cooperate with treasury and corporate consolidation and reporting and prepare the consolidated balance sheet and report of the Stravis report related to forecasts and plans.
Nature Of The Job:
- Participate in the managerial analysis of various departments as they may arise.
- Approximately 30% of the activities are covered by precedents while the remaining 70% require responses to new, original situations.
- Principal activities are collecting, developing, analyzing, coordinating, directing, recommending, and presenting the results of the analyses to financial management, department management and senior executives.
- Support Integration of a management metrics to promote cost reductions.
- Daily interaction with BU analyst, Senior Financial Managers, Finance Department and various Operational Managers.
Responsibilities:
Corporate Departmental Expenses:
- Partner with department managers to understand their operational needs and challenges, fostering a collaborative environment for financial improvement, understanding of the consolidated costs and the ramification by entity and regions.
- Develop and maintain financial models for the consolidation of the forecasts, annual financial plans and strategic plans, and periodic variance analysis to senior management.
- Analyze departmental budgets, spending patterns, and variances to identify cost-saving opportunities, pinpoint cost drivers and recommend actionable solutions for expense reduction.
- Direct and coordinate the forecast and planning processes to ensure schedule due dates are achieved.
- Maintain the right level of discretion considering that the data associated with the corporate departments are, by nature, highly confidential / sensitive.
Balance Sheet Projections:
- Utilize key financial ratios (e.g., liquidity, solvency, profitability, turns) to predict future balance sheet performance for each department.
- Cooperate with the treasury department and ensure that the consolidated balance sheet plans and forecasts are aligned with the expected cash flow and financing plans.
Process Improvement:
- Identify, analyze, design and implement process improvements leveraging financial modeling and data analysis to streamline operations and enhance efficiency.
- Track the effectiveness of implemented improvements and continuously refine processes for optimal performance.
- Conduct various high level confidential projects reporting directly to EG Commercial Finance Director/ Ebara Energy CFO.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Prepare insightful financial reports for departmental managers and senior leadership.
- Stay updated on evolving financial regulations and accounting standards.
Background & Experience:
- Must be a fluent in English, preferable Japanese as well
- Degreed Accounting or Finance graduate with a minimum of 5 years’ experience in a managerial accounting role.
- Candidate must be able to adapt to various international cultures and requirements. Occasionally, international travel is required.
- Must be proficient with IFRS as applied to financial reporting (e.g. income statements, balance sheets, cash flow statements) and appropriate accounting for various transactions, along with experience working in a multi-currency environment
- Experience required with monthly actual closing cycle and planning / forecasting processes.
- Well-developed analytical skills and communicative ability are essential.
- Must have high proficiency in Microsoft Excel / PowerPoint and practical working knowledge and ability to understand and problem-solve Oracle E-Business and FCCS applications.
