KATBOTZ LLC is seeking a highly skilled SAP RTR Tax Consultant specializing in LATAM with over 10 years of professional experience to join our dynamic team. This role focuses on optimizing Record to Report tax processes across Latin American jurisdictions while ensuring compliance with complex regional tax regulations within SAP environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- LATAM Tax Process Management: Manage and oversee end-to-end Record to Report tax processes within SAP for LATAM operations, including tax determination, calculation, provisioning, journal entries, reconciliations, reporting, and compliance activities across multiple Latin American countries.
- Regional Implementation Leadership: Lead the design, configuration, and implementation of SAP RTR Tax solutions tailored to LATAM requirements, ensuring compliance with country-specific tax regulations including Brazil (SPED, NF-e, CT-e), Mexico (CFDI, DIOT), Argentina (AFIP), Colombia, Chile, and other LATAM jurisdictions.
- Localization Expertise: Configure and customize SAP localization packages for LATAM countries, including tax determination procedures, withholding tax configurations, electronic invoicing requirements, and statutory reporting obligations.
- Tax Compliance and Statutory Reporting: Ensure timely and accurate preparation of tax returns, statutory financial statements, government filings, and regulatory reports specific to LATAM countries, leveraging SAP functionalities to maintain compliance with evolving tax legislation.
- Month-End and Year-End Close: Support financial closing activities related to tax, including tax provision calculations, deferred tax accounting, tax account reconciliations, and consolidation reporting for LATAM entities.
- Cross-Module Integration: Ensure seamless integration between SAP FI (Financial Accounting), CO (Controlling), MM (Materials Management), SD (Sales & Distribution), and tax modules to support accurate tax determination and reporting throughout the RTR cycle.
- Tax Analysis and Reporting: Conduct comprehensive analysis of tax data to support strategic decision-making, creating dashboards and reports that provide insights into tax liabilities, effective tax rates, and compliance status across LATAM operations.
- Internal Controls and Audit Support: Design, implement, and monitor internal controls related to LATAM tax processes within the RTR cycle, ensuring compliance with SOX requirements, internal audit standards, and external tax audits.
- Regulatory Updates and Change Management: Monitor and interpret changes in LATAM tax legislation, government regulations, and digital tax requirements (e-invoicing, digital bookkeeping), implementing necessary system updates and process modifications to maintain compliance.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with regional finance teams, accounting centers, tax departments, IT teams, external tax advisors, and government authorities across LATAM to align business requirements, resolve tax issues, and streamline processes.
- Data Accuracy and Integrity: Ensure high levels of data accuracy and integrity within LATAM tax processes by conducting regular audits, reconciliations, and validation of tax transactions, master data, and configuration settings.
- User Training and Support: Develop training materials and deliver training sessions to LATAM finance and accounting teams on SAP RTR tax functionalities, local tax requirements, and best practices for efficient tax process management.
- Troubleshooting and Issue Resolution: Serve as a subject matter expert for LATAM tax-related system issues, providing timely resolution and implementing continuous improvements to optimize RTR tax processes across the region.
- Project Management: Lead and manage projects related to LATAM tax process improvements, system implementations, upgrades, regulatory compliance initiatives, and harmonization efforts across multiple countries, ensuring timely delivery and alignment with strategic objectives.
- Electronic Documentation Compliance: Implement and manage electronic fiscal documentation requirements including electronic invoices, tax receipts, and digital accounting books as mandated by LATAM tax authorities.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Taxation, Business Administration, or a related field from an accredited institution.
- 10+ years of experience in finance, accounting, or tax roles with extensive hands-on experience in SAP RTR processes and tax functionalities specific to LATAM countries.
- Deep understanding of LATAM tax regulations, including VAT/IVA, withholding taxes, electronic invoicing requirements, transfer pricing, and statutory reporting obligations across multiple Latin American jurisdictions.
- Proven experience with at least 3-4 LATAM countries' tax requirements (Brazil, Mexico, Argentina, Colombia, Chile, Peru, etc.).
- Strong knowledge of financial reporting standards (IFRS, local GAAP), accounting principles, and RTR best practices in LATAM context.
- Fluency in Spanish and/or Portuguese (both speaking and comprehensive understanding) is mandatory. Ability to conduct business conversations, read and interpret tax regulations, communicate with tax authorities, and deliver training sessions in Spanish and/or Portuguese is essential.
Preferred Skills & Qualifications:
- Advanced degree (Master's in Taxation, MBA) or professional certifications (e.g., CPA, local tax certifications, LATAM tax specialist credentials).
- Expert proficiency in SAP Financial Accounting (FI), SAP Tax modules, and SAP localization solutions for LATAM countries (SAP Legal Content, country-specific add-ons).
- Experience with LATAM-specific tax engines, electronic invoicing solutions (NF-e, CFDI), SPED files, and government portal integrations.
- Strong understanding of Brazilian tax complexity including ICMS, IPI, PIS/COFINS, ISS, and SPED fiscal/accounting requirements.
- Knowledge of Mexican tax requirements including CFDI 4.0, complement Carta Porte, and electronic accounting regulations.
- Familiarity with S/4HANA migration projects and tax implications in LATAM context.
- Bilingual or trilingual proficiency (Spanish, Portuguese, and English) is highly preferred to effectively support multi-country LATAM operations and communicate with diverse stakeholders.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex LATAM tax regulations and translate them into system requirements and process improvements.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with proven ability to work effectively with multicultural teams across different LATAM countries and time zones.
- Demonstrated project management experience with the ability to manage multiple country implementations, regulatory changes, and competing priorities simultaneously.
- Experience working with LATAM tax authorities and managing tax audits in the region.

- Spanish: Professional working proficiency in speaking, reading, writing, and comprehension (mandatory)
- Portuguese: Professional working proficiency in speaking, reading, writing, and comprehension (mandatory for Brazil-focused roles, highly preferred for all positions)
