We have a new opportunity open for a Payroll Specialist to join our team in our shared services department at our Gateway location in Indianapolis. This position will be a remote position with some onsite needs.

Responsibilities:

Payroll Specialist I serves as the first point of contact in our payroll shared services call center. This specialist assists customers by determining needs, responding to questions, resolving issues, and fulfilling requests to resolution, following external regulations and internal policies and procedures. They perform a variety of clerical tasks associated with calculating, posting, and maintaining the organizations team member pay records (e.g. timecard corrections, manual check preparation, reviewing audits, hours worked). They review, analyze, and audit employees’ hours worked to ensure accurate payment in compliance with IU Health pay practices, policies, and Fair Labor Standards.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma/GED required.
  • Associate's degree or equivalent years of experience preferred.
  • Requires 0-3 years of relevant experience; basic payroll experience preferred.
  • Requires experience in Microsoft programs (Word, Excel).
  • Help Desk Institute (HDI) certification is required to have or obtain within 6 months of hire (PRSS will pay for certification)
